DANCING WITH THE STARS - SEASON 6!!!!

DANCING WITH THE STARS- SEASON 6 begins tonight. I am very excited to see this season begin since this is one of my favorite shows on TV. This season has a very interesting groups of stars. The stars include:
Adam Corolla

Cristian de la Fuente

Shannon Elizabeth

Steve Guttenberg

Monica Seles

Jason Taylor

Mario

Marlee Matlin

Penn Jillette

Priscilla Presley

Marissa Jaret Winokur

Kristi Yamaguchi

I’m hoping that this season will not be as disappointing as last season. Roger and I were hoping that Sabrina Bryan would have won as we felt that she was an extremely good dancer. I still find it very hard to believe that she was voted off due to a lack of votes. I, myself, used up all my votes on her. So anyways, I’m excited to see Marissa Jaret Winokur perform. She is the star of HAIRSPRAY. I totally loved her in that movie. I’m thinking that Kristi Yamaguchi will do a good job because she’s such a good figure skater. Since she is with Mark, I assume that he will have her doing a lot of challenging dances. I figure that Steve Guttenberg, Penn Jillette and Adam Corolla will have the comical acts that will attract us to their dancing. I don’t know a lot about the other dancers but I look forward to watching them all.

My Wish for the final two would be: Marissa Jaret Winokur and Kristi Yamaguchi.

Who I think might realistically make the final two are: Jason Taylor and Kristi Yamaguchi.

Who I think will be the First Person to be voted off Season 6: Penn Jillette.

Weekly Update: 16 March 2008

I am going to start something new this week and hopefully be able to make it a weekly update. Please forgive me if some weeks I don't post.

Weekly Babble: Here's a few cute little photos I took this week that I thought you might enjoy. I look at Rylan and can't help but smile and fall in love with him everyday. I can't believe how quickly he is growing up. It just seems like we were coming home from the hospital the other day and he would just lay there and sleep all day. For some reason, I wanted more than anything for him to get up and be active. Now all he does is run around the house, getting into things and cause me to wish for just one hour long nap. It's funny how your mind works when you're exhausted.

Movie Pick of the Week: This week I am choosing "Dan in Real Life". I had heard about this movie from some of the girls at work and decided to give it a chance. I personally thought it was a good chick flick. Roger watched it with me and he thought it was okay. I have read reviews on this movie and it was not given very good ratings but you should really check it out for yourself.

Plans for this week: Roger goes in for his sleep apnea test and will hopefully get fitted for the mask so that he can start getting rest and feeling better. Rylan and myself will be spending our usual days together this week. If the weather is nice, we'll go down to the park down the street and have some fun on the swings and slides. I can't wait until this summer when the weather is warm because the park has a mini water park and it's FREE. I bet Rylan will love running through there. He loves water. I catch him playing in the dogs water dish every day.

Well, this is all for now. I must go get ready for work. Today is my "Friday" so I'm looking forward to my days off....

Rylan's new favorite thing

So my son is going to love computers. I'm glad that he will because I can see him achieving goals with his ambition. However, it's making it very hard for me to ever be able to use the computer when he is in the room. He walks over to me, says "Momma" and points at the computer. He wrote Grandma a little email today. Course, she won't obviously understand what it says but none the less, it was cute.

Hurry up Springtime!

I wish that Spring would hurry up and get here. I am so tired of the rainy cold mornings when I come out of work to find a slight bit of frost or moisture on the windshield. Or when I have to spend 10 minutes to warm up the car before I take off. I'm so looking forward to the spring and summer with warm weather and sandals. My favorite part about those seasons!! I am so excited as there is just a tiny bit of flowers beginning to pop out of the ground and my rose bushes look like they are finally beginning to come around... Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rylan is growing up so quickly

Rylan has decided that he is old enough to brush his own teeth now. Once in awhile, I am able to help him but most of the time he wants to do it alone. I can't believe how quickly he is growing up and turning into a little man. He's been saying quite a few new words like "down", "Dak" (his name for Kojak), "Dad", "Momma" and "KiKi" which is his new name for our dog Sadie. (Don't ask me how he came up with that one.)

Family Time at Kathryn Albertson Park

We decided awhile back that we wanted to go walk around at Kathryn Albertson Park and so I took the camera. We had a good time. I can't wait until spring so that we can go down there again and take more photos. Hopefully by then, Rylan will be running all over the place.

Rylan's First Adventure with snow.

We woke up yesterday morning to quite a bit of snow. Rylan has not been able to play before so we decided that its about time to start. He was a bit annoyed at how bundled up I had him, but I didn't want him to get cold. He kept feeling the snow between his fingers and kept giving me this puzzled look. He's not real fond of cold things so it was probably a shock. We tried to build a snowman but the snow was not cooperating. Too dry to ball up so we just had a baby snow fight. Here's some more photos that you might enjoy. I hope we get some good snow so that we can go make that snowman soon...

This old toy chest

This is a toy chest that belonged to my father when he was a small boy growing up on a farm in Nebraska. In the 90's, he worked on it and made it into a clock. (Clock making was one of his favorite past times.) Inside this old chest is a piece of paper where my dad wrote about traveling with this "suitcase that probably contained toys" back in 1937. He traveled with his mother to Portland from Nebraska on a train to come out to meet his father and uncle who had moved out west to start farming. I thought about him alot lately and thought about this old chest that I have displayed on a planter shelf. I decided to take a picture of Rylan playing with it. I will have to try to take another photo one of these days when Rylan is more cooperative but none the less, the photo came out ok.

I hope that this is one of the things that I can pass on to Rylan. It's hard knowing that Rylan was not able to meet his Grandpa but maybe some of Grandpa's old things will teach Rylan what kind of man he was.
