A Sign of better times

Today I noticed something while driving across town... gas prices have dropped since Monday morning. On my way home from work Monday morning, I had decided to take a photo of the sign at the Sinclair Gas Station. It was $4.09 a gallon. Now today when I drive past Maverick Country Store, I notice that its $4.05 a gallon. Now it may not be a big difference but it's a little bit and that's all that matters with society the way it is today. Times are bad for a lot of folks. I have to thank God every day for all of the things that I do have and the people that are in my life. I sure hope that this is a sign of better times coming soon because I know way too many people that are really struggling right now. We'll just have to wait and see.

Rylan on the swings

I couldn't resist this one. He laughed so hard while he was on the swings. He absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave the park.

Fun Day at the Park

I took Rylan to the little neighborhood park this evening. He went on the swings and all of the slides. I was so proud of him because this was the first time that he has climbed up the steps and went down the slide by himself. Course, I was holding his hand on the way down but still... this is a huge step for him. He had so much fun. I was able to get a video of him on the swings that I'll post soon. Until then, here's the photos:

(I couldn't resist using the new software to make these collages- I'm really liking it.)

Look! I'm so excited..

I went outside this morning to check and water my yard and look whats on my watermelon plant. I was shocked and I'm so excited to see it grow so fast!!

Can't resist photos of Rylan

I just love taking pictures of Rylan. He's so stinkin cute and makes me laugh every day! I love him more than I could ever imagine loving someone.... (besides Roger of course!)

Happy Birthday Sandy!

Today is my friend, Sandy Hall's birthday! I don't get to see her or visit with her as much as I did when I lived in Traverse City but the occasional card or phone card keeps us going. Sandy was my very first supervisor when I worked at Tom's Food Markets in Traverse City, Michigan. I started off as a cashier when she was the Asst. Customer Service Supervisor and ended up being the Asst. Customer Service Supervisor when she was promoted to Customer Service Supervisor. We worked together at East Bay (our first store) then off to West Bay and finally we ended up at the 14th St. Store on Division. We left Tom's together and have remained friends. Sandy is an amazingly caring lady who has taught me a lot over the years. It's funny how she calls me when I'm thinking about her or vise versa. She's always been there to give me advise, share our love for the Lord and have a good laugh while shopping at the mall... Happy Birthday Sandy! I'm hoping that you're having a great one!

My Watermelon Plant

Remember this tiny little plant that I have posted about many times... well it's not so tiny anymore. I'm getting little tiny watermelons. I can't wait to have one when they are big enough...

Happy Birthday Amy!!

Tonight we celebrated my friend Amy's birthday at work. I brought her caramel brownies, a plant, a card and balloons. She's such an awesome gal to work with and I hope she has a great birthday.

Dr. Fish massage, Anyone?

I recently read an article about the Dr. Fish massage and I just can't believe how insane this is... There are several salons around the country that offer this massage. Basically, you can sit in these tanks of fish or just put your feet in there and the fish can completely get rid of any dead skin that you have on your body. They also can make your pores unobstructed to promote blood circulation. They have the function of protecting skin and beutifying face to make your skin healthier and more brilliant. These fish have no teeth and use their powerful sucking lips to suck away deadskin, which can stimulate the acupuncture point to relax your body and releases your fatigue. Supposably during this treatment, you can enjoy a "comfortable and wonderful feeling which you can not describe in words." There is no pain or discomfort nor is there a possibility of spreading infectious diseases. This is the most insane thing I've heard of in a long time. I looked it up on the internet and the photos and videos just amaze me. I would NEVER do this no matter how badly I need it.

ACSO Family Picnic

We went to the annual ACSO Family Picnic last night and I got some photos of Roger and Rylan that I just have to share. I've noticed that lately that Rylan is acting more and more like Roger every day. I love watching them interact and play together. Rylan is growing up so fast. It seems like it was just yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital and now he's 21 months old. Anyways, here's the photos:

Oh no, He's got the keys and ready to drive!!

Reunion collage and photo designs

I got these from Memory Matinee which is who did the slideshow for our reunion. Thought I would share them...

Another card idea

Here's another cute card idea from a friend.... I'd probably change it to be a Happy Birthday card (especially for someone I know that loves ladybugs!)

Awesome card ideas

I got these card ideas from a friend and they looked like so much fun to make...

Crazy Weather

We've had some crazy weather here today. It's rained so hard that it was difficult to see when driving down the road, wind blowing and thunderstorms throughout the day. I didn't take these photos myself but you get the idea.

Photo of the day!

Rylan and I were goofing around after breakfast this morning and I suprised him in this photo. He's such a funny funny baby. Always laughing, smiling or talking which is what he was doing when I snapped the photo....
Also, Happy 200th Post to me! Yay! I love blogging so much.

Meridian High School Class of 1998 Reunion: Part 3

Saturday night was the banquet dinner at the Courtyard Marriott hotel. It was nice. I got dressed up in my new black dress with red heels. We had a nice banquet dinner with lots of appetizer foods. I was able to sit with my closest friends: Kristina, Clarissa and Jessika. They put together a slideshow of photos from the high school days, senior photos, current photos and photos of those people who are still friends after all these years. I have stayed friends with several people so there was quite a few photos of us in the slideshow. I was also very happy to see photos of those individuals who wanted to share their life stories with everyone. Several of my classmates are extremely successful and happy. I’ll post about that later. Anyways, I’m very glad that I had the opportunity to go to my reunion, see everyone and get some awesome photos! There will be a link in the next post that will have the entire album of photos. It's taking forever to upload all of them to my Picasa album.

Meridian High School Class of 1998 Reunion:Part 2

Saturday morning, we had a family picnic at Tully Park in Meridian. It was so much fun! We had Blimpie sandwiches, chips, cookies or cake, and drinks. The committee did a fabulous job with the picnic.

I was so thrilled to see my dear friend Jessika who drove up from Utah. She’s one of the few people who I’ve always kept in contact with over the years. I am so glad that you came up here Jess! I also got to see my friend Becca, her husband Brent and adorable son Henry. (Unfortunately, I didn’t end up with a good photo of her & her family so we had to borrow one from her blog.)

It was very interesting to visit with everyone and find out where they have gone, their families and what they do for a living. We tried to get a good group photo of everyone that attended but its kinda hard when you have that many people. Here's the photos:
