This has been a crazy busy week for us. The first thing that changed this week was my work schedule. I've been working Thursday through Sunday nights for about a year now. This time around, my work week is Friday through Monday nights. It's not a significant difference to most people but I notice the change. I worked the first five days of this new year. Things at work are going well. I've been made the "Team Lead" on the graveyard shift which makes me very happy. We're in the middle of getting a new supervisor and I'm still debating on whether to apply for the position. It would be nice to be promoted but I also hesitate because I would have to work day shift. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a night owl and hate getting up super early in the morning. I also know in my heart that there is one person in particular who deserves the promotion more than I do. So I will pray about it and se
e what happens. We were finally able to get Rylan a big boy bed. He's just reached that point where the crib is too cramped for him and I'm praying he can be trusted in a regular bed. This will require a lot of adjustment on all of us but it's time. I'll be spending most of the day today cleaning his room, putting things out of reach, etc...etc.. I'll post photos when it's all done but here's a preview of his bed. The photo shows brown but Rylan's bunk beds are a dark blue. I've also decided that 2009 is the year that I will get healthier and skinnier. I decided that if I said "2009 will be the year that I get skinny." that it might seem unachievable and unrealistic. I have to face the fact that I have a lot of overweight people in my family and I'm a very tall girl to try to be "skinny" but I do need to be healthy. Roger and I are both devoted to making this change. I know it won't happen overnight and it will require more will power and strength than we've had in previous attempts. We have to do this for ourselves and for Rylan and we will do it. I don't plan on posting my actual weight o
n here yet as I'm still very embarassed by that. However, I plan to update this blog as to my weight loss and will include some photos. I'm working with another co-worker to see if we can get together enough people to do a Biggest Loser type program. I've always stayed away from this type of thing before due to embarassment but I've decided to change my feelings on it. Please wish me luck. This is going to be a tough thing for me. I'm a MAJOR soda drinker and gotta love those fast foods, chips and PIZZA. I am pleased to say that this last week at work, I did not have one single sip of a soda. I drank lots of water- on average between 6 to 8 bottles a night. I felt better! Well that sums it up. I'm working on my blog book and have to manually import all photos and posts because Blurb and Blogger do not work together anymore. (So annoying!) I'll keep ya posted...

Good luck! You can do it. I believe in you. I've been trying to kick unhealthy snack foods ... but I just love that chocolate lately! WE can do it. :)
